Terms & Conditions
These terms describe the basis on which Synapsework offers its courses and the expectations on both sides. They are written to be clear and reasonable.
Last reviewed: January 2025
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you enrol in a course offered by Synapsework or when you submit an enquiry through this website. By completing enrolment, you accept these terms.
Synapsework operates from Wisma KFC, Lot 9, Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. References to "we", "us", or "Synapsework" in these terms refer to that entity.
These terms may be updated from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your enrolment applies to your course.
2. Enrolment and course access
Enrolment is confirmed once full payment has been received and we have sent you a confirmation message. Places are allocated in the order enrolments are confirmed.
Each enrolment covers one individual participant. Course access, notebooks, and cohort session invitations are for the enrolled participant only and are not transferable to another person.
We reserve the right to decline an enrolment if we have reason to believe the course level is not suitable for the applicant's background, in which case any payment received will be returned in full.
3. Payment and fees
Course fees are listed on the website at the time of enquiry. The fee covers the materials, cohort sessions, and other elements described in the course specification for the enrolled intake.
Payment is due in full before the course start date unless a specific arrangement has been agreed in writing. We do not offer instalment plans by default, but you may write to us to ask.
All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of any applicable charges as stated at checkout. If the fee changes between your enquiry and your enrolment, the fee stated in your enrolment confirmation applies.
4. Cancellation and changes
If you need to withdraw from a course before it starts, please write to us at [email protected] as soon as possible. Withdrawals made more than 14 days before the course start date are eligible for a full refund of the course fee. Withdrawals made within 14 days of the start date are not eligible for a refund, but we will use reasonable efforts to transfer your enrolment to the next available intake.
Once a course has started, no refund is available for the current intake. If personal circumstances make it impossible for you to continue, write to us and we will consider your situation. We may offer a transfer to a later cohort at our discretion.
If we need to cancel a scheduled intake (for example, due to insufficient participants or unforeseen circumstances), we will notify enrolled participants as early as possible and offer either a full refund or a transfer to the next intake.
We may adjust course schedules, session times, or supporting materials between intakes. Significant changes to the core content of a course will be communicated before enrolment is confirmed.
5. Course delivery
Courses are delivered online. Recorded lectures are made available on a schedule communicated at the start of each intake. Live cohort sessions are held at specified times; if you are unable to attend a live session, a recording is provided where technically feasible.
Practice notebooks are provided in Python. Participants are responsible for setting up a working Python environment on their own device. We provide guidance on the recommended setup; we are not able to provide technical support for every device configuration.
Outcomes from the course depend entirely on the participant's own study and effort. We provide the structure, materials, and sessions; the work is yours.
6. Course completion records
A course completion record is issued to participants who submit the required practice notebooks by the stated deadline. The record notes the course name and the intake period.
The completion record is a record of participation and notebook submission. It is not an academic qualification, professional certification, or accredited credential of any kind. We make no claim about how any employer or institution may regard it.
7. Participant conduct
We expect all participants to engage with the course and with each other in a respectful and constructive manner. Cohort sessions are shared learning spaces; behaviour that disrupts the session or makes other participants uncomfortable is not acceptable.
If a participant's conduct is disruptive or harmful, we may remove them from cohort sessions. In serious cases we may terminate the enrolment without a refund.
Participants must not share course materials, practice notebooks, or session recordings outside the enrolled cohort without our written permission.
8. Course materials
Lecture recordings, notebooks, case study documents, and other course materials are prepared by Synapsework and remain our property. They are provided to enrolled participants for personal study purposes during the course period.
You may retain copies of materials for your own ongoing reference after the course. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or republish them — in whole or adapted form — for any commercial or public purpose without written permission from us.
Work you produce yourself — including your own project notebooks and code — belongs to you.
9. Limitation of liability
Our courses are educational in nature. We do not make any representation about the career, professional, or practical outcomes that may result from completing a course. Any such outcomes depend on the participant's own application and circumstances.
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of course materials or your own application of the methods studied, beyond what is required by applicable Malaysian law.
Our total liability to you in connection with any course is limited to the fee you paid for that course.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from them will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
We hope that any concerns can be resolved by writing to us directly before any formal process is considered.
11. Questions
If you have a question about these terms, please write to us at [email protected] or call +60 3-2148 6394 during office hours (Mon–Fri 9am–6pm, Sat 10am–1pm).
