Three Pathways Into Applied ML

Each course is built around a clear weekly structure — recorded sessions, live walkthroughs, and practice notebooks you actually run and submit.

Data preparation and model evaluation with Python and scikit-learn

Applied ML Foundations

An eight-week applied course covering data preparation, classical model families, and evaluation with scikit-learn. Each week combines a recorded lecture, a live walkthrough, and a Python practice notebook. Suits working adults with a basic Python background.

  • 8 weeks, self-paced with weekly live sessions
  • Python notebooks with scikit-learn throughout
  • Small applied project at close of course
  • Completion record on notebook submission

Intermediate applied AI track with cohort sessions and case studies

Intermediate Applied AI Track

A ten-week intermediate track covering modern modeling approaches, evaluation practices, and applied case studies. Cohort sessions run weekly; self-paced practice fills the gaps. Participants are expected to have foundations-level knowledge or equivalent self-study.

  • 10 weeks with weekly cohort sessions
  • Applied case studies from public datasets
  • Self-paced practice alongside live sessions
  • Small project at end of track

Year-long AI practitioner subscription with mentor pairing and final project

Yearlong AI Practitioner Subscription

A twelve-month subscription pairing both courses with monthly cohort sessions and a senior mentor. Designed for working professionals who want a steady study rhythm across a full year, closing with a final project of the participant's own design.

  • 12 months with both courses included
  • Monthly cohort sessions throughout
  • Senior mentor pairing for study support

Why Synapsework

Designed Around Real Work Schedules

Every course element — the session times, the notebook scope, the project size — is shaped around adults who have jobs and lives alongside their studies.

Flexible Weekly Rhythm

Recorded lectures are available on demand. Live walkthroughs are scheduled in the evenings to accommodate office hours. No penalty for catching up on your own timetable.

Hands-On From Week One

Each week ships a Jupyter notebook pre-populated with data and skeleton code. You fill in the logic, run the cells, and see what the model does. That cycle of writing, running, and reviewing is how the concepts settle.

Small, Purposeful Cohorts

Cohort groups are kept small so that live sessions stay conversational and questions get actual answers rather than being waved off to a forum.

Curated Reading, Not a Flood

Each topic is supported by a short recommended reading list — not a hundred links. The materials are chosen for clarity and accessibility, not length or prestige.

Participant Data Handled Carefully

Study records and contact details are held for service delivery only. The privacy notice in the footer explains this in plain language, without legal boilerplate.

Based in Kuala Lumpur

Our office is at Wisma KFC, Jalan Sultan Ismail. Participants who want to meet in person for a session review or a project conversation are welcome to arrange that.

Common Questions

Things People Ask Before Enrolling

Do I need a mathematics or statistics background to join the Foundations course?
Secondary-school level comfort with numbers is enough for the Foundations course. The notebooks are designed to let you run and observe models before you need to understand every formula behind them. Mathematical depth is introduced gradually, with supporting reading for each concept.
How much time should I set aside each week?
Most participants report spending four to six hours per week — roughly one to two hours on the recorded lecture and walkthrough, and another two to four hours on the practice notebook. The live session is typically ninety minutes and is scheduled in the evening (Kuala Lumpur time).
What is the difference between the Foundations course and the Intermediate track?
The Foundations course starts from basic Python familiarity and covers the core model families — linear models, trees, basic ensembles — and standard evaluation practices. The Intermediate track assumes that foundation and moves into more contemporary modeling approaches and more involved case study work. If you have done significant self-study in ML, it is worth having a conversation with us before deciding which to join.
What does the Yearlong Subscription include that the individual courses do not?
The subscription wraps both courses into a twelve-month structure with monthly cohort sessions between and after the courses, plus pairing with a senior mentor who can review your notebooks and discuss your project direction. The final project is entirely the participant's own work — the mentor's role is to ask useful questions, not to prescribe an outcome.
Is the completion record an accredited qualification?
The completion record is an internal Synapsework document confirming that the participant submitted the practice notebooks for a given course. It is not an accredited qualification and does not carry formal academic standing. It is a record of participation and completion, suitable for sharing with an employer who wants to see what you worked through.
How is payment handled and what happens if I need to withdraw?
Payment is collected in Malaysian Ringgit before the course cohort begins. Withdrawal terms and any applicable refund conditions are set out in the Terms & Conditions, which you can read before enrolling. If your circumstances change, reach out to us — we prefer to find a workable arrangement rather than lose a participant over a scheduling issue.
How do you handle my personal data?
We collect contact details and course records for the purpose of running the courses. We do not sell data to third parties and do not send marketing beyond course-related communications. The full Privacy Policy is linked in the footer and sets out retention periods and your rights to access or remove your data.
